They're easy to open and close, however I found their textured plastic coatings a bit hard on the fingers. The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator at this price that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and allows you to manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also offers numerous options for customizing. The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't enhance the efficiency of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than some of the others we tried. However taller people struggle to close them without slamming. It would have been more effective to have front-mounted handles. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't break the bank and isn't expensive, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It's a basic design that isn't as visually striking like some of the competitors however it comes with enough features to make it a solid choice. It also has a large water dispenser and a decent ice maker that operates quickly. Another great feature is the “Chill Drawer” that sits above the two crisper bins. You can alter this feature using the slider located on the outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the generic settings work better than the specific ones. In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the fridge didn't differ much from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our ratings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge. The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless that has a “smudge proof” finish. It repels fingerprints and streaks better than other stainless steel finishes I've tried.
